Meg is kind of a complicated girl. She's been through hell and back, and because of this she finds it very hard to trust people. She's very independent and stubborn, she likes to do things her way and she doesn't like being told what to do. She hates most nobles/royals because of the way her father, a nobleman, treated her mother. She has a big heart, but she has a very hard time trusting it because it is pulling her in 2 very different directions, towards 2 very different men.
Megara was the only child born to Euterpe, a very poor peasant girl, who lived in the great City of Mount Olympus, in the land of Olympia, located not far from the Enchanted forest. Euterpe raised her little girl alone for the most part, with only a little help with her best friend Cyanea, as Meg's father was never in the picture. Lord Alkaios was a highborn noble, who wanted absolutely nothing to do with the bastard child born to his once mistress, even if the child was his own blood. As soon as he'd found out Euterpe was pregnant, he'd turned her back out onto the streets, and she hadn't heard from him since. And so, Meg would never meet her father, though, after hearing the story of how she came to be born, she never really wanted to. Why did she need some stuck up man who didn't want her anyway? She was just fine without this unknown father. Her mother gave her enough love for that of ten parents, despite how little they had, Meg always had a relatively happy childhood.
Unfortunately, when Meg was 11 years old, her mother was killed by being run over by a runaway horse pulled chariot. Meg was completely destroyed, her mother was everything to her. Her mother's best friend Cyanea, took her in and raised her from that point, and though Meg loved her, it just wasn't the same. From that point on, a part of Meg would always be closed off, she couldn't help it. When Meg was about 16 years old, the Prince of Olympia, Adonis, noticed her in the streets and was taken with her beauty. He started seeking her out, and wooing her, much in the way that her father had once done for her mother, and Meg, being young and still naive, made the mistake of falling for him.
One day, someone tried to assassinate the king, using poison, but Adonis drank from the cup instead. As he lay there dying, Meg was desperate, so she went to a very powerful sorceror named Hades, and begged for his help, begged him to save the Prince. Hades agreed, but for a high price, he wanted her to trade herself into his service as a slave. Believing that she loved Adonis, and that he loved her in return, and not being able to let him die, Meg foolishly agreed. If she had known that shortly after she'd saved his life, Adonis would grow bored with her, and replace her with a new girl, Meg may have made a different choice. But alas, that is what happened, leaving Meg completely destroyed, and made her begin to resent men, and distrust them.
Hades on the other hand, was pleased by these events, because he wanted Meg for himself, and not just as his slave. But Meg no longer wanted romance of any kind, and continuously refused him, to his displeasure. She just wanted to somehow earn her freedom and go home to her godmother. But Hades was determined to win her heart, and was sure that over time, he would do just that. Over time, he worked hard to seduce her, and eventually, though she fought it very hard, she did fall in love with him. This time was different than it was with Adonis, her feelings were stronger. As much as she hated it, she loved him very intensely. And even though Hades eventually granted her her freedom, she still stayed with him.
One day, some years later, she met a man named Hercules. She was caught in a bad situation with a man, a bad man, who owed Hades money. She had been sent to collect the money, but the man was drunk, and refused to give her the money. And then, he tried to take advantage of her, but Meg, being more resourceful than she looked, stabbed him in the side with her dagger. Unfortunately, he was stronger than her, and in his anger, grabbed her, took the dagger and threw it, and backhanded her hard. Who knows what else he would have done after that if he hadn't been stopped. But thankfully, Hercules appeared at just the right time, and saved her.
At first Meg was resentful that a man had saved her, insisting that she had been fine with out him, and tauntingly calling him "Wonder Boy", but eventually that would change. After Hades heard the story of what had happened, when she came back without his money, he decided he was going to try and use Meg to get information on Hercules. A seer had told him that the only person who could stop him from killing his greatest enemy, another very powerful sorcerer, though one who only practiced good magic, named Zeus, was a man named Hercules. Of course Meg agreed. As much as she hated some of the things Hades did, and how he treated most others, she loved him, and would do almost anything for him.
But while she was pretending to get close to Hercules for Hades, something she hadn't expected happened, she actually fell in love with him. Telling Hades that she refused to help him any more, and that Hercules had no weaknesses anyway, she said that she was done with working for him. Hades realized then, that Hercules did have a weakness, Meg. And so, he told Hercules that if he didn't interfere with his fight with Zeus, he wouldn't kill Meg. At first Hercules gave in, not wanting anything to happen to Meg, but Meg, out of guilt, told him the truth about Hades using her against him, and begged him to forget what Hades had said, and go stop him.
Thankfully they made it there in time for Hercules to save Zeus. In Hades anger, he went to grab Meg, but Zeus used his magic, making him disappear. They knew better than to think he was gone for good, but for the time being, he was gone. Meg and Hercules stayed together after that, traveling to distant lands, and going on new adventures. Hercules still had a habit of rescuing people, and Meg still teased him shamelessly. And Meg was incredibly happy. At least she thought she was. Though something deep inside of her always felt that maybe something was missing. But unfortunately, Regina's curse would end that, when it hit and threw them into Storybrooke with no memories of each other.
While in Storybrooke, during the curse, Meg was known as Mimi Koyle. Mimi was an orphan, and for the most part a loner, only really befriending a select few people. She was an extreme flirt, and sometimes had a habit of having one night stands and short flings. She didn't trust men enough to get into a committed relationship, because her ex-boyfriend used to beat her up. Recent days though, most men know better than to mess with her if she doesn't want to be messed with, because she learned to defend herself real well. She worked as a singer at a local bar.
(THERE WILL BE MORE ADDED TO THIS HISTORY AS SOON AS I GET A CHANCE TO RP HER AND FIGURE IT OUT)
(This sample post is from one of my characters on a Harry Potter site I RP on)
Gypsy stayed silent when Jared told her no, that he wasn't going to just get it over with, that they were going to have a little talk first. She didn't say anything, because what could she say? At the moment she had no idea why the man she'd been sure only moments ago that she was falling in love with, was now standing in her room with a gun in his hand, calmly pointed at her. And if she didn't know why, then how could she possibly defend herself. And then there was the fact that, for much of her life, she'd wished for this, she'd wished as hard as she could that she could just die. And she couldn't count the times she'd tried to kill herself, both while she was at Hogwarts and while she was in college. What did she have to live for? What was the point in going on day by day feeling worthless, feeling like you were the lowest piece of scum. And all because of years of abuse and hate from those that should have loved her, her family, her father and brother.
Jared spoke again, saying that she'd lied to him, that he'd lied to her to, but that that wasn't the point, and she frowned. What could he possibly be talking about? Her question was answered just moments later. He told her that we, clearly implying himself and someone else, had killed her brother. He went on to say that her father was next, after her, and then asked why she hadn't told him that she was a pureblood. So that was it. He was clearly a witch hunter, and he was upset because she was a pureblood witch. And now he wanted her dead along with her family. Oh it was morbidly funny, he obviously had no idea that her father and brother despised her, that she meant nothing to them. And he didn't know that they had stopped meaning anything to her a long time ago, well meaning anything other than the cause of constant pain. But then, that probably didn't matter, he wanted her dead because of the circumstance of her birth, and she couldn't change that, though often she wished she could.
Looking at him, her face empty, she shook her head slowly. "I never lied to you Jared, not once. I didn't tell you I was a witch, but I don't go around broadcasting that, and you never asked. I never said I was a muggle either, though I might as well be..." she said, trying to keep the pains of the past that were all coming back due to this conversation out of her voice. "as for my brother... as far as I'm concerned, he deserved to be killed a hundred times over, not that I ever wished it on him... or my father." Though tears were trying to break out of her eyes, she forced a laugh. " It's funny... I've wanted to die so many times... I've even tried before... and now here we are," she said, her voice breaking, "just... aim for my head.. and make it quick, please? And make sure you tell my father I'm dead before you kill him, he'll die a happy man, he'll finally have gotten what he's wanted since the day I was born. "
