Player Name: Becca
Player Age: 25
Face Claim: Amy Lee
Character Name: Baba Yaga/ The Morrigan -Raven Mistwood
Character Age: Ageless. Appears 27.
Occupation: In the old days she was known as an alchemist/ herbologist, potions expert....basically a witch. In this world she owns a small shop where she sells herbs, candles, and little odds and ends.
Kingdom of Birth: In a forest on the outskirts of Camelot and the Kingdom of DunBroch (King Fergus's land) but ages before either Kingdoms were known as such
Family: She had a mother but she has been dead for years.
Likes: 1. Her things. Baba Yaga isn't so much a materialistic person but what she does have she values. A good sturdy Broom (for beating away forest sprites...of course), a Pewter Cauldron (for mixing her potions) and her ever handy Mortar and Pestle. 2. She enjoys the music genre Instrumental Dubstep. It gives her a good beat to work by and is very fun dancing in the forest to. 3. Candy! She always has a sweet tooth....irony.
Dislikes: 1. Crying children. When she sees a child crying it makes her sad so she always comes to the rescue with some homemade candy. 2. Time limits. Baba Yaga is a free spirit who enjoys having flexibility when it comes to getting things done. 3. Being called a witch. Nothing pisses her off more then the old fashion pointing and chanting "Witch witch witch". "Toad toad toad" (Cackles)
Strengths: 1. She can find an herbal remedy for anything, it just takes a little research and a whole lot of time. Her love for herbology and potions makes her valuable. 2. Her courage. Trust Baba Yaga to be at the front of the battle when the Boogie Man comes to town, smacking her broom around. 3. Her magic, or at least the few simple spells she knows. 4. She can shape shift into a Raven. 5. As an alchemist she was once graced to work as an apprentice to the Great Nicholas Flamel and as such became one of the soul owners of a Philosopher Stone which is how she obtained her immortality.
Weaknesses: 1. Her temper. She doesn't mean to get so angry but when she does, Baba Yaga is on fire....literally. 2. She doesn't trust easy, it takes a while for someone to actually make it on her friends list (Check her facebook if you dont believe me). 3. She burns out fast. When she uses actual magic she can only go on for so long and then its crash time for a day or two. 4. When she turns back from her Raven form shes naked...clothes don't change with you. Damn modern Shape Shift lore!
Personality: Baba Yaga is a very fun gal to be around, so long as her temper doesn't get in the way. She can party like no tomorrow but if someone spills their beer on her then they are getting thrown across the bar. She also has a huge soft spot. When it comes to little ones she caves hard. It doesn't matter what her mood is, she generally has a pretty confident rein on it, very rarely does she doubt herself and even when she does she takes another shot and goes for it any way. She isn't stupid enough not to know when its time to back down and let others lead but if there is no leader then out comes her inner lioness. At the end of the day Baba Yaga likes to curl up in pajamas with a cup of tea and just watch the stars. Its her cool down time and she loves it. Her favorite weather is the rainy kind full of swaying trees and endless possibilities. Her favorite time of the year is... you guessed it, Halloween. Her home is in the forest surrounded by her favorite kind of people...plants and animals. Her clothing choices ranges from Earth tones to Steampunk depending on where she is. At work shes all soft skirts and wraps. At the bar shes all top hats and corsets. This girl has been around for ages so she doesn't feel wrong with medieval accessories.
History: "My name is Baba Yaga but it hasn't always been. I was just a young farming girl when I was taken from home and trained in a sisterhood known as The Morrigans. My powers were rapidly increasing in my youthful age and I became known as safety hazard.
There has always been a Morrigan and there always will be. She who is powerful. She who is knowing. She who is gifted.
In those days the Morrigans were indeed powerful, no one dared to cross them. They tipped the scale between all things good and evil, well assuring that Lady Justice always had her way at the top. We were a thriving organization full of structure and rules. Yet peace and prosperity. We could have continued on till the wheel of time itself stopped.
That is...until one of our own betrayed us.
My very dearest friend and teacher, Morigu, rose in power to the supreme Mother Morrigan. Corruption and greed over took her.
I was with her the day she entwined herself with the House of Lir and soon became Queen to the widowed King. Together we sought to protect the Kingdom by creating a master army that we called The Cu Chulainns. Men blessed, cursed, to take on the form of a beast when angered. They were created for good but in their dark hearts they became Morigu's demons. She used them to over throw the throne and, in the end, I had to fight against her. It was a battle that soaked the kingdom in blood. The Cu Chulainns were built to be unstoppable and in that endeavor they served their mistress well.
The children of Lir were my top priority. I was entrusted to protect them no matter what, so I hid them away. In a cottage in the woods I tried to help them disappear and to live...but she found them. Using little sweaters sown from her hate, she turned them in to Swans for all eternity. As I watched them fly away, weeping, I wondered "Why them? Why did she have to hurt them?" In the end, I suppose, it was because of what Children represent. Youth. Innocence. Time. All things Morigu wished she still had.
Our side won, by the way, not that I cared by then. Most of the Morrigans were destroyed and the society itself was brought to its knees. In one final battle it was I that brought the sword down into Morgu's chest but I didn't walk away a Victor, I ran away a broken. I fled to the Enchanted Forest, not very certain why but from that moment on I was no longer a Morrigan.
Disguised as an old woman I took on the name Baba Yaga. In my cottage in the woods I was determined to keep distance between myself and the world. My plan worked like clock work until I heard the cry of a lost little girl one day. She was so tiny, small enough for me to wrap my arms around her twice over and she was scared, so very scared. Rumors had reached the surrounding villages of a witch who eats children whole. A dark witch with a candy home. I am not that witch. I do not eat children....but I do take them away. I could see how terrible my little Babbet's life was at home, so I took her away. I found her a better home elsewhere. I suppose that's where the stories come from...
I don't hurt them. I help them. I either find them homes or they stay with me until they are grown but I never hurt them.
Finally the time came for a little newness. The last of my children had grown and gone, and I was growing restless. So one fine morning I packed what little I had and made for the world again. I suppose I should have expected my little venture to not last long. The night I set out the sound of Bells chiming reached my ears.
Snow White and Prince Charming were married.
The nerve of some witches! Regina's curse swept me up the way one would sweep up a speck of dirt. She did land me a little Victorian home with my own shop to sweeten the deal...must of had some witchy rights activist plan in mind. I could care less. She's still on my list! And so here I am, crushing powders and mixing potions for desperate house wives. Pitiful...well I suppose it could be worse.
Or will it...
